LGTBQI+ Legal Advice

At the ICLC we provide inclusive, and affirming legal advice tailored to the unique needs of LGBTQI+ people in NSW. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and clarity you need to make informed legal decisions. Our solicitors have the expertise, awareness, and sensitivity to address the challenges and experiences unique to the LGBTQI+ community.

General Legal Advice

Anyone who identifies as LGBTQI+ in NSW can receive free legal advice in relation to the following legal issues, subject to financial eligibility:

  • Criminal Law and Fines
  • Apprehended Violence Orders
  • Domestic and Personal Violence
  • Discrimination
  • Employment
  • Credit and Debt

Domestic Violence

The ICLC provides legal advice to any LGBTQI+ person experiencing domestic violence in NSW. 

We also provide free on-the-spot legal advice to any LGBTQI+ people experiencing domestic violence at our duty legal service. This service takes place on Wednesday from 9:00am to 1:00pm on level five of the Downing Centre Local Court

Family Law

Anyone who identifies as LGBTQI+ in NSW  can receive free legal advice in relation to family law matters, subject to financial eligibility.
